Construction site engineer (Volunteer)

Nka Foundation seeks a global development practitioner to fill a volunteer position as a site engineer for our site in Ghana or Tanzania.

The position is ideal for an engineer who likes to build structures and able to teach others to do the same. The job site is a rural vocational skills training center. The site engineer will be a part of the site management team, and will have the responsibility for planning, designing and the construction of structures such as rural housing, sanitation, water, and energy projects to improve the lives of a rural community in Ghana or Tanzania. Throughout the year, the vocational training center hosts international building workshops, the site engineer will offer guidance in the technical aspects of the construction projects. And may be involved in planning, co-ordination and supervision of the international building workshops on the site to ensure that work is done safely, on time and within budget and to the right quality standards.
