Senior Engineering Manager (IoT) – BBOXX
Reporting to CTIO
As the Senior Engineering Manager (IoT) you will have high level visibility across the entire business and will be a key stakeholder.
You will also be leading the effort to develop the products which can deliver energy access to our customers in developing countries.
You will work on energy storage and solar charging systems to ensure these can be financed affordably by integrating IoT technologies to control payments and keep the products operating healthily.
Experts in product design, electronics engineering, backend development, GSM expertise and more; delivering an industry leading solution, taking BBOXX to the next level.
MANAGE the functionality for a range of IoT connected devices, (including but not limited to solar home systems and devices for managing the control of energy products), by working closely with all areas of the business; including the Head of Commercial and Innovation and the Head of Business Development; to ensure the functionality of new and existing devices matches the requirements of BBOXX’s business as it develops geographically and into new product sectors.
BUILD & COACH a team who will deliver functional improvements and support of BBOXX’s core product range through the delivery of agile, user focussed projects on a quarterly basis.
ENGAGE closely with the supply chain team in China and with BBOXX’s support teams within its DESCO operations globally regarding items such as product cost reduction, continuous improvement and suitability for mass-manufacture
LEAD the hardware and software development of the expansion of BBOXX’s IoT product range from the Solar Home System sector into other forms of distributed energy systems and other utility services for our customer base.
BUILD a support team and structure for the product range that will allow for world-leading (and eventually 24/7) support as the business expands geographically across the developing world.
Background in both hardware and software, and ideally SaaS, IoT.
Experience in product planning (business cases) and lifecycle management.
People leadership and team management experience – leading high performing teams to deliver consistent results, ideally in an Agile environment/framework.
Excellent communicator – able to communicate successfully both with business stakeholders as well as developers, to identify and understand business requirements and translate them into well-specified requirements.
