About Nantambi
Nantambi is a researcher, innovation professional, and sustainable development practitioner. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Chemistry and a Master of Science in Technology Innovation and Industrial Development from Makerere University, Uganda, and earned her Ph.D. in Biosystems Engineering in 2026. From 2020 to 2025, Nantambi conducted research on soil fertility improvement and nutrient-use efficiency, with a focus on biochar-enhanced composts and resource-efficient agricultural systems. Her doctoral research examined the valorisation of agricultural residues, including rice husk biochar and organic biomass, to improve soil health and enhance crop quality before storage. She currently serves as Director of Research, Innovation and Sustainable Development at Ecolife, where she leads initiatives at the intersection of agricultural technology, climate resilience, and sustainable food systems. Her work includes clean-energy-powered agro-processing, post-harvest management, cold-chain solutions, and technologies designed to strengthen agricultural value chains and improve the livelihoods of rural farming communities. Nantambi has collaborated with international organisations and development partners, including the Roddenberry Foundation, CLASP, Efficiency for Access, and Innovate UK, contributing to the development and application of sustainable technologies and community-centred agricultural solutions. Her professional and research interests focus on post-harvest technologies, agri-food systems and technology innovation. Her aspiration is to contribute to inclusive agricultural transformation and advance evidence-based solutions to development challenges.

I believe technologies that improve resource efficiency, strengthen food systems, and expand access to clean energy are critical for sustainable development.
