Applications are open for the Activate Fellowship U.S. Cohort 2027, a program for scientists, engineers and technologists developing hardware-based innovations.
Activate supports scientists and engineers as they move technologies from the lab toward commercialization. Fellows receive:
- $100,000 annual living stipend
- $100,000 in annual R&D support
- $12,000 for travel and professional development
- Health insurance stipend and relocation support
- Entrepreneurship education, mentorship and advisory support
- Access to a community of hard-tech founders and leaders
Who can apply?
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and at least four years of post-degree experience in scientific research, engineering or technology development. They must be first-time leaders of a hard-tech commercialization effort, commit to the project full time if selected, be legally able to work in the U.S., and communicate proficiently in English.
Proposed projects must be based in the physical or biological sciences or related engineering fields, still be in development, and have raised no more than $2 million in nongovernmental funding.
Activate looks for technically skilled leaders developing technologies with the potential for significant impact. Successful applicants typically have an early proof of concept or prototype supported by experimental data.
