About This Webinar

Join us on August 20th for an energetic discussion of the shift to clean energy featuring our special guest, Dr. Diana Gragg at Stanford University.

This is an exciting time for the energy industry—energy revolutions are underway, and things are changing quickly. Access to energy services is growing globally. Electricity demand is poised to spike with the increasing electrification of buildings and transportation and growth in AI and data centers. But the way we generate energy has to change.

While traditional energy sources like fossil fuels and biomass have powered us for centuries, they are also major contributors to global climate change, pose significant environmental and human health risks, and exacerbate energy equity issues. Clean energy sources that release little to no greenhouse gases, such as energy-efficient technologies, renewables, and nuclear power generation, and tools to manage and support energy transitions, such as batteries and carbon management, are changing the energy landscape.

During this webinar, Dr. Gragg will illuminate the shift towards clean energy sources while introducing Stanford University’s Understand Energy Learning Hub. The Learning Hub is a free resource to anyone with an Internet connection, providing access to energy education for everyone worldwide.

What you will learn about the shift to clean energy

  • Learn about environmental, health, and equity challenges linked to fossil fuels and biomass
  • Understand key factors driving the shift to clean energy
  • Explore the role of energy efficiency, renewables, and nuclear power as solutions in energy transitions
  • Learn how to use free, valuable educational resources to understand the energy transitions
