Improving Experience and Outcomes for the Autodesk Foundation's Portfolio Organizations

An Impact Research project to support the Autodesk Foundation in gathering actionable insights that will help improve the experience of non-profits and startups in its portfolio.

Project Description

The goal of this project is to define the most effective way to capture and analyze lessons learned from engagements across the Autodesk Foundation’s Impact Opportunity Areas — Health & Resilience, Energy & Materials, and Work & Prosperity — as well as from its training partners.

The objective is to translate these lessons into actionable insights that will help improve the experience and outcomes for the Autodesk Foundation’s portfolio organizations. This includes evaluating training partners’ assessments, identifying key learnings, gaps, and opportunities, and outlining next steps to strengthen future engagements.

The project will explore assessing potential collaborations with the E4C Fellows alumni network, focusing on how these partnerships could address training and capability gaps identified during the analysis.

If time allows, the project will also aim to define best practices for requesting support, managing engagements, collecting feedback, and linking those insights to the Autodesk Foundation’s strategic outcomes.

Impact

While the project does not have a direct environmental or social impact, this project will enhance operational efficiency and improve support for portfolio organizations, ultimately strengthening the Foundation’s overall impact.

Eligibility Criteria

Skills / Experience:

  • Required:
    • Interviewing and user research
    • Data analysis
    • Technical writing and documentation
    • Strong interest in workflow optimization, data collection, and process improvement.
    • Comfortable engaging with multiple stakeholders to gather input and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Desired:
    • Have prior experience as an Autodesk tool trainee or user, providing first-hand understanding of the learning experience.
    • Process Design
    • Workflow Development and Implementation
    • Experience with energy model and analysis tools

Software proficiency:

  • Familiarity with Autodesk tools (either AEC or PDM)

Discipline:

  • Any engineering discipline

Preferred fellow local experience (All projects can be completed remotely):

  • N/A

Preferred timezone (when the Fellow should be available for meetings):

  • Compatibility with UTC-5 (Colombia Time) and UTC+1 (Central European Time)
