American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) is seeking a Senior Researcher to lead work on industrial heat efficiency and electrification. This role combines research, policy development, and stakeholder engagement to advance industrial decarbonization across the United States.
The successful candidate will conduct and publish research, develop policy recommendations, engage with manufacturers, utilities, government agencies, and other partners, and help shape market transformation strategies. The position also includes project management, proposal development, and collaboration across ACEEE’s research and policy teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 5+ years.
- Background in engineering, physical science, economics, environmental science, or a related field.
- Experience or strong interest in industrial decarbonization, energy efficiency, or industrial policy.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to policymakers and other audiences.
- Strong research, writing, and project management skills.
- Peer-reviewed publications, including at least one as lead author, are required.
Experience with industrial electrification, emissions reduction strategies, or industrial facilities is preferred.
Location: Remote within the U.S. or hybrid from ACEEE’s Washington, DC office.
Salary: $77,467–$96,834, based on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
