      Hi everyone,
My name is Smaran Avvari, and I’m working on designing low-cost, modular, and repairable medical devices specifically for hospitals in low-resource settings — where equipment breakdowns and lack of support often disrupt care.

Rather than assume what’s needed, I want to listen first. I’m looking to connect directly with doctors, nurses, biomedical technicians, or hospital admins working in low-resource hospitals (especially in Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, or Latin America) to better understand the real problems you face with equipment.

      I’m particularly interested in:

What types of medical devices break most often?

What equipment is too expensive or hard to get?

What challenges do you face with power, sterilization, or repair?

If you could have one simple, reliable device tomorrow — what would it be?

This is not for a company or profit — I’m working independently and want to co-create something useful with your input. I’d love to talk over a short call or chat if you’re open to it. I’ll share updates, designs, and welcome all feedback.

If you’re willing to talk or can connect me to someone in your hospital who would, please comment below or message me directly. Thank you so much for everything you do.

      Warm regards,
      Smaran Avvari
