E4C Visualized | Pollution: The silent killer in developing countries

Pollution looks a little different in impoverished communities. It can look like years of exposure to a smoky wood-burning stove in a closed kitchen, and it can look like sewage in the ground water after a heavy rain. Collectively, the forms that pollution takes kill as many as one in seven people worldwide, according to the Global Alliance on Health and Pollution. Here, the alliance explains the problem and lets us know what we can do about it.
