Funding Opportunity: EthiopiAI Programme

The UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) is inviting proposals for the EthiopiAI Programme, which will fund responsible AI solutions in Ethiopia. Projects should focus on health, education, humanitarian response, economic development, or climate action, and will be deployed through FCDO’s bilateral development programmes.
- Funding available: Over £1 million
- Eligible applicants: NGOs and UK-based non-profit organisations (for-profit entities are not eligible)
Focus: Developing and deploying AI tools with social impact, building government capacity to use AI, and supporting policy and regulatory frameworks for responsible AI in Ethiopia.
Applications must include a cover letter, CVs, and a technical proposal (max 10 pages) detailing methodology, partnerships, capacity building, policy engagement, work plan, budget, and risk management.
