Modeling and Animation of an Ultra-Low Carbon Concrete Plant

A Design for Good project supporting CarbonBuilt in showcasing its technology through impactful visuals. Sponsored by the Autodesk Foundation.

Project Overview

Project Description

CarbonBuilt replaces up to 50% of the cement in concrete masonry and hardscapes with its proprietary, upcycled Reversa® binder. The company also invests in advanced production technologies to enable the highest plant efficiency and product quality. This process can achieve up to 70% carbon footprint reduction of CarbonBuilt’s concrete products compared to conventional production.

This project will involve creating 3D models and animations of the equipment and processes at CarbonBuilt’s concrete plant, to showcase on its website how its plants are decarbonized. These animations will help website users, including customers and investors, visualize complex processes. The final output will detail the full process flow – binder flowing through the concrete production process, along with equipment upgrades and other plant optimizations that decarbonize the concrete masonry.

Impact

By highlighting its technology through compelling visuals, CarbonBuilt aims to communicate the tangible benefits of choosing solutions that reduce carbon in the construction industry.
