E4C Visualized: Food Waste and Its Solutions

contributor: Rob Goodier

About one-third of the food grown for people to eat never makes it into our mouths. Food loss occurs throughout the supply chain from farm to plate, with important differences that track with the economic development of each country. Understanding the problem and its causes can help engineers and product designers develop technologies to reduce the waste of food. The infographic below outlines the issues and mentions broad technological solutions that engineers are designing.
