E4C Visualized: Saving moms at birth

contributor: Rob Goodier

Childbirth is surprisingly deadly to mothers, especially those in developing countries. Worldwide, one mother dies every two minutes from complications of childbirth. The sad thing (and the thing that gives us hope) is that most of those deaths are preventable. This infographic by USAID lays out the problem and the solutions using data from sources such as the World Health Organization, the United Nations and others.

Devices and programs that we outline in our Solutions Library also have a place in healthcare in general and maternal health. See what works and get inspired in the Health section.
