Background

Engineering for Change (E4C) is seeking a Program Associate to support the successful delivery of our Impact Projects in collaboration with global partners within the E4C Fellowship Program. This role is central to ensuring that projects are well‑scoped, well‑supported, and designed to create meaningful, sustainable impact.

The Program Coordinator will serve as a key connector across partners, Fellows, and internal teams. The ideal candidate brings strong coordination skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset, and thrives in a collaborative, mission‑driven environment. While guidance and support are always available, we are looking for someone who is comfortable taking initiative, anticipating needs, and helping strengthen our processes as we grow.

Duties and Responsibilities

Impact Projects Program Associate shall support the Engineering for Change (E4C) team to execute E4C Impact Projects. Specific objectives include but are not limited to:

Ensure successful completion of Impact Projects and positive partner experience within the E4C Fellowship program.

  • Act as a primary point of contact for Impact Project partners, demonstrating excellent relationship building ability and proactive engagement.
  • Lead Scope of Work (SOW) calls with partners including scheduling, documenting, revising and confirming all details to ensure project goals, milestones, and expectations are clear and aligned.
  • Attend kickoff calls, progress report meetings, and final presentations and liaise directly with partners as needed throughout the Fellowship.
  • Provide smooth and productive communication, with partners, Fellows, Managing Fellows, and the E4C team.
  • Drive Impact Project success and partner satisfaction, proactively troubleshooting Impact Projects issues alongside partners, Fellows and Managing Fellows, and the E4C team.
  • Elevate concerns to Program Specialist and Sr. Program Manager as necessary.

 

Help with recruitment and planning of Fellowship and Impact Projects

  • Support Impact Project application review, follow-ups to applicants, project scope assessment and communication with potential partners.
  • Compile project descriptions and Fellow profiles for inclusion on Fellowship application webpage, and contribute to publishing these details on the webpage.
  • Contribute to Managing Fellow and Fellow recruitment, conducting interviews, reviewing CVs, and project grouping and allocation to respective Managing Fellows.
  • Represent E4C at forums and events, including sharing about the Fellowship & Impact Projects program in information sessions or at events, and holding exploratory conversations with potential partners.
  • Support with outreach to potential Impact Project partners and funders, as needed.

 

Support in managing and leading the team of Managing Fellows with ESD Resource Coordinator

  • Participate and support in the onboarding, training, and management of Managing Fellows to ensure project progress.
  • Meet with Managing Fellows regularly for updates on Impact Project progress, concerns with Fellows, and to provide mentorship and support.
  • Review work of Managing Fellows, provide feedback, and identify training needs. Support in the development and delivery of training modules.
  • Coordinate with Technical Lead Fellows to plan and deploy technical training for Fellows.
  • Planning, organizing and executing software support for fellows.

 

Contribute to continuous improvement of Fellowship and Impact Project processes

  • Develop new or improved Impact Project templates, timelines, resources, and processes
  • Assess overall Impact Project management processes and suggest, pilot, and implement improvements with the E4C team.

 

Publish annual Impact Project Reports in collaboration with the design team

  • Review, edit, and publish project summaries and the Annual Impact Project Report to the E4C website.
  • Review and edit research reports with demonstrated attention to detail.

 

Key Qualifications

  • 3+ years of work experience, with 1+ year of experience in project management, technical project management preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree; Engineering, International Development or other related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Research/design experience
  • Excellent English communication & presentation skills (Written/Verbal)
  • Ability to work with diverse teams, across global set of stakeholders and with varying levels of leadership
  • Ability to manage many concurrent projects and deadlines
  • Experience with digital workflow and project management tools (ex. Airtable, Slack, Microsoft Suite)
  • Effective and clear communication, including demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with responsive and professional correspondence
  • A resourceful self-starter, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and solutions
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently on individual tasks and projects
