Project Overview
Next-generation industrial technologies face a gap between technical readiness and real-world deployment. Established industrial companies are slow to adopt new processes due to execution risk and integration complexity, while for emerging companies and projects – investors struggle to assess whether projects are truly ready for scale. Existing maturity models and standards exist but are fragmented and inconsistently used. There is currently no trusted, sector-agnostic framework to assess and communicate industrial readiness for both industry and investors.
This project will focus on research and stakeholder engagement to validate and shape an Industrial / Manufacturing Readiness Framework. Work includes mapping existing readiness standards (e.g. TRLs, MRLs, safety and quality frameworks) and engaging with industry, EPCs, startups, investors, and standards bodies to understand how industrial readiness is currently assessed and applied. Findings can inform the structure and design direction of a draft framework. And if time permits, the key findings can be linked to potential alignment with ASME standards and future certification pathways.
