FSI QE Series Carbon Fiber Framed Shelters
FSI North America
FSI QE Series Carbon Fiber Framed Shelter is a pre-assembled carbon fiber framed emergency shelter using a strut system for quick deployment in the field.
The Quick Erect (QE) Series Carbon Fiber Framed Shelter is a temporary shelter that can be set up on-site within a few minutes, depending on the size of the unit. Designed by FSI North America, the shelter uses a carbon fiber strut system that can expand for fast setup and retract for storage. The canopy fabric that covers the strut system is designed to be resistant to chemicals and UV, and, when properly secured to the ground, can withstand 70 mph winds.
The Carbon Fiber Frame Shelter can be used for emergency applications including field hospitals, urgent medical surge capacity additions, temporary housing, isolation centers, and other uses. Units can be configured with additional windows, doors, insulation, ducts, alternate colors, and combined with other FSI shelter products.
FSI North America supplies their products worldwide.

The FSI DAT ‘QE Series’ Carbon Fiber Framed Shelters are available in different sizes that range from ~9.3 m2 to ~32.6 m2. The following are the specifications for the 28 m² (300 ft²) DAT QE1127 Multi-Purpose Rapid Deployment Shelter.
The unit is approximately 3.4 x 8.2 x 2.6 m and weighs 127 lbs.
The design features 2 windows, one on each side, and 2 skylights. The canopy is made from fire retardant and UV/chemical/mold resistant coated fabric. The canopy and floor is detachable from the shelter for ease of cleaning and repair.
The carbon composite tubing structure is retractable and requires a propping tool/pole to push up the frame.
Additional parts included are two 43 cm HVAC outlets with tie closures, 4 stainless steel stakes, and ground anchor points.
The manufacturer provides an instruction manual for setting up and deconstructing their products. To build a unit, users need to pull the width support frame of the carbon fiber strut system upwards with poles until the structure locks in place. The canopy fabric walls are attached to the frame in order to ensure air lock.
Users are encouraged to obtain handling and operating experience prior to using FSI products. In addition, FSI Authorized distributors are available for advice and assistance.
According to the manufacturer, the frame can be replaced if needed and the canopy can be maintained with a provided repair kit. In the event of large repairs, the manufacturer recommends returning the unit to FSI or an FSI dealer for repairs.
FSI products come with a limited 3-year warranty.
The manufacturer states that the Quick Erect (QE) Series shelters can be quickly set up without using external devices. The product, which is also made from non-conductive materials, can be set up in 1-5 minutes, depending on the size.
No third-party organizations known, only testing performed by the designer.
According to their instruction manual, users should take precaution when lifting heavy objects to prevent back injuries, such as additional personnel and an on-scene coordinator to moderate construction.
The QE Series shelters are supplied with a protective bag for carrying and storage and repair kits. Users are also given the option of ordering a water heater, waste water pump, conveyor systems, an HVAC unit, air heaters, and other systems. Additional accessories include other FSI products, such as HVAC air filtration systems, lighting, medical field cots, water heaters, and generation systems.
According to the instruction manual provided online by the manufacturer, the DAT QE Series is ANSI #113 compliant.
