NewHouse Research and Design
The Lumadome Shelter is a safe, comfortable and lockable shelter for temporary or long term use. It is one model in the DecaDome® system comprised of a connector-and-panel system that allows quick assembly and mass-production.
Any location where disaster relief efforts are deployed. DecaDome has been deployed in Haiti as of 2011.
Protection from the sun, harsh winds, rain, snow, and other outside elements that threaten human safety and health.
First responders to emergencies, homeowners, disaster planners, disaster victims, military users, work camps, summer camps.
Limited production currently. The patented connector-and-panel system is designed for mass-production and allows scalability of manufacturing which is closer to printing than heavy manufacturing.
Directly from NewHouse R & D, or it can be constructed using locally sourced materials. NewHouse R & D is planning on partnering with NGOs to help with disaster relief distribution.
NewHouse R & D has been making and field-testing prototypes and limited production models for a number of years. Exact number of deployed units is unknown.
