Product Description

The Vergnet-Hydro 60-2000 is a foot operated water pump designed for heavy-duty use in a community of ~300 people. The pump is intended to provide better access to drinking water for those living in rural and semi-urban areas.

Historically, Vergnet targeted French-speaking countries, but is now expanding into English and Portuguese speaking countries in Western and Southern Africa, Southeast Asia, the Caribbean, and Latin America.

Design Specifications

The HPV60-2000 is a foot operated water pump in which the displacement of the piston located at ground level and is hydraulically transmitted to a rubber diaphragm down in a stainless steel cylinder. The expansion and the contraction of the diaphragm deliver the water to the surface. The top cylinder is connected to the pumping element on the bottom, via a flexible hose. The maximum operating depth for the HPV60-2000 is 60 meters (dynamic level). Maintenance service provided by trained local partners in 35+ countries (over 3,000 trained local technicians). Additionally, Vergnet Hydro claims that the HPV 60-2000 pump totally satisfies VLOM (Village Level Operation and Maintenance) criteria.

Replacement Components

Components available directly from the Vergnet Hydro distributors. All wearing parts are at ground level and accessible for replacement using a single tool delivered with the pump. Its technology enables the pump to feed a raised water tower.

The pump requires a considerable effort to operate. Although full body weight can be applied to the pedal, children and small users find it sometimes hard to operate the pump.
