E4C Visualized: The People of the Siemens Design Challenge

Innovate for Impact: Siemens Design Challenge

Since March 4, hundreds of teams have vied for two awards in the Innovate for Impact: Siemens Design Challenge. Designers, engineers, professionals, students and anyone with a good idea have submitted their plans for technologies to improve lives in underserved countries. Innovations align along one of two tracks: better water desalination or the reduction of post-harvest losses between the farm and store shelves.

Only days remain before the winners are announced, and we’re taking a moment to look back. Throughout the course of this competition, we have been encouraged by the breadth and depth of experience and talent of the people involved. From the design teams to the international panel of expert judges, the people have ensured quality and offered field-tested insight. This is a snapshot of the eight finalists’ designs and the judges who are deliberating on them.
