Kayoola Solar Bus is a 35-seat electric bus that relies on lithium-ion batteries to power an electric motor coupled to a 2-speed pneumatic shift transmission. Its power is supplemented by a solar array on the roof of the bus that increases the bus’ range. It was designed by engineers at Kiira Motors Corporation and is currently a prototype.

Specifications: The bus is a 35 seat hybrid bus powered by a 150 kW traction motor whose power is stored in a 180 Ah Li-Ion battery pack. It is capable of travelling at up to 100 kph, with an all-electric range of 80 km plus 12 km solar array range extension. it is equipped with an advanced navigation system. It enables passengers with in-wifi network connection and provides on-board entertainment systems.
