Bici Bomba Rosario de Agua is a pedal-powered rope pump used to collect water. The machine uses bicycle parts combined with a rope pump to obtain water from beneath, usually hand dug wells.

Design Specifications

The product is stationary and pedal powered, it requires no electricity to be operated. It is made from used bicycle parts such as pedals, frame, chains, and handles. The pedaling system is connected to a cement flywheel to facilitate continuous pedaling and uses sprockets’ diameter relation to vary speed and torque. The system is connected to rope which is lowered down into a well and drawn up through a long pipe with the bottom immersed in water. The system also consists of round plastic balls whose diameter matches the diameter of the pipe and which function as a seal that helps pull the water to the surface.
