Loop is a fully integrated and eco-friendly electric scooter sharing service in Beirut, Lebanon. The bikes are equipped with telematics technology and digital dashboard with GPS tracking. A mobile application allows subscribers use the service and book rides.
Loop is currently operating in Beirut, Lebanon with plans to deploy scooters worldwide.
The dashboard and technology/telematics software are manufactured and developed in Canada. They are then shipped to China where the parts are produced and assembled to have a complete scooter. Interview with manufacturer
The user can get the service directly from manufacturer by follow these steps.
Loop launched 15 scooters on May 18, 2017 with an additional 60 in the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Loop scooters are equipped with a battery that can last up to 50 Km with a maximum speed of 50 Km/hour, and are capable of climbing moderate hills without sacrificing the top speed. They are also equipped with telematics technology, GPS, and a GSM 7″ digital dashboard.
To access scooters users must do the following:
- Download the Loop Beirut app on either iOS or Android
- Choose the nearest scooter to your location
- Book the scooter through the app upon which the user receives a 4-digit PIN code
- Input the PIN code on the scooter’s screen to unlock and you’re ready to ride
- When the ride is done, return the scooter to any of Loop stations
Users can call Loop hotline directly from inside the application by going to “Settings” > “Contact US”.
The replaceable components include the battery, helmet, and GSM7″ screen.
3 to 4 years Interview with manufacturer
The manufacturer aims to provide a consistent solution for commuting in traffic at an affordable cost using green technology.
No third-party organizations, only testing performed by the manufacturer.
Users must attend an introductory class through which they learn the controls of the scooter, dashboard and scooter dynamics. Through this course they are introduced to basic skills such as balance and braking and more advanced riding techniques such as lane positioning and collision avoidance. After the class the users go for a small test drive under the supervision of an instructor. More safety precautions are available in this rider manual.
Users must have a driver’s license (not necessarily a motorcycle license) and are required to wear the helmets provided at all times during the ride.
