The Separett Villa 9000 is a urine diverting dry toilet made for both warm and cold climates. It is adapted to be used where there is no sewer system and/or where water resources are scarce. The urine diverting mechanism is made so that households can use the urine as fertilizer for gardens, etc. Separett has distributers in most continents.

The target regions are all places where water is scarce and a sewer system do not exist, toilets have been sold in desert-like conditions in Africa as well as in Greenland. Regions open to nutrient recovery and composting. A cooperation between the manufacturer and a waste management company in Peru has introduced the product in the Latin American market.

Design Specifications

The toilet is made of polypropene plastic. The dimensions of the toilet are L:77 B:47 H:66 cm and it weighs 21 kg. The fan works on grid power (about 230V) and has two speed modes. The energy consumption is 0.276 kWh/day for power mode 1 and 0.276 kWh/day for power mode 2. The venting pipe is 75 mm in diameter and the included 32 mm waste hose is 2 m long. The toilet is CE marked. The faeces are stored in a 23 L compostable storage bag inside the toilet and the urine is led to either a storage tank or to an infiltration site. It has a venting pipe with a fan that removes smell and keeps flies away. A concealing view screen over the container opens automatically when a person sits down on the toilet. The toilet is normally installed with the ventilation connected to an outer wall. It is connected to a power jack to run the fan. The urine is transported via a hose to a storage tank. The toilet can be installed and serviced by the user to "do-it-yourself". A product manual and user instruction are included in the package and available on the Separett website. The toilet has a 5 year warranty. It is possible to contact Separett directly online to report problems.

Complementary Technical Systems

230 V power. The product can be combined with a 50 L ejektor tank that can be connected to the toilet. The ejektor tank is connected to a water source and automatically makes a mix of water and urine that can be directly applied to plants via a hose from the tank.
