Agrikaab, formerly known as Ari.farm, is an online platform that enables people worldwide to become digital livestock farmers/traders. The platform is actively based in Somalia and now has customers from 35 countries since its launch. This platform enables investment in farming projects and livestock sales in East Africa to help boost local agriculture and create jobs.

The platform has received recognition from Business Challenge as winner of best social enterprise, winner of best newcomer startup in Sweden 2017 from Nordic Startup Awards, and winner of pitch corner from Seed Stars Summit.

Since 2016 the platform has been used by customers from over 35 countries. Agrikaab has also conducted 11 projects, created 20 jobs, and has investors from 50 countries.

Design Specifications

The online platform enables investment in farming projects in East Africa to help boost local agriculture, provide locally produced food, and create jobs. Users create an account to make their first investment, follow the process of their investment and its impact, then, re-invest or withdraw their earnings on a quarterly or half year basis. The money transfer can be done through:

  • Credit or debit cards, where only cards with 3D-secure are accepted.
  • Transferwise, where users deposit the payment directly into the designers bank account.
  • Direct bank transfer, investors directly pay to the designers bank account.
  • Cryptocurrency, the investors can pay via Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash and Ribble.
