Product Description

Greenway Smart Stove is a rocket-type, single-burner, highly efficient cookstove that burns all solid biomass fuels such as, wood, dry dung, crop waste, coconut waste, bamboo and more without any fuel processing or cutting process. Video available about the performance of the stove.

This product can be purchased on Greenway's website by sending a request, or through direct sales in rural and semi-urban India through their distribution network. Greenway provides a Payment Plan that combines mobile technology and field presence to provide its stoves on easy to pay, interest-free instalments. Users can also buy the product on Amazon.

Design Specifications

Design specifications include steel and aluminium body with bakelite handles and a front-feeding combustion chamber at the bottom.  Its loading capacity is 25 kg and fuel opening dimensions are (h x w) 12 x 7.6 cm. It is a lightweight and portable design as it weighs 4 kgs and its dimensions are (LxWxH) 25 x 19 x 30 cm. Further details can be found on the manufacturer's website.

Lifecycle is unknown, however, this product has a 1-year manufacturer warranty.

Reductions compared to traditional mud cookstoves: Smoke production 70%; Fuel consumed: 65% 4 point top support that adjusts to different shapes and sizes. 25 kg loading capacity designed for everyday use; compatible with all solid biomass; 74% satisfaction rate among intended customers.  

Vetted Performance Status

Greenway Smart Stove has been tested by Winrock International with the following results: Specific consumption (fuel): 197.0 g fuel/kg food (min); 197.0 g fuel/kg food (max) Specific consumption savings from baseline: 40.0 % Time to cook food: 55.0 min.


Guidelines provided by Greenway should be followed to avoid burns and spillovers when manipulating the product.

Compliance with regulations

The Greenway Smart Stove has been tested and certified by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India and complies with BIS 13152. Emissions of noxious emissions well within nationally and internationally prescribed norms.  

Evaluation methods

Baseline technology was a three stone fire. Eight cooks tested five stoves, with a total of 28 tests per stoves.
