Laveo Dry Flush Toilet
The Laveo dry-flush toilet is a water-free toilet which bags and seals waste away for easy disposal.
The Laveo dry-flush toilet employs a continuous bagging system to seal waste odor-free. Each cartridge of bags allows for 17 consecutive “flushes” and the system is battery-operated.

The Laveo toilet was designed over several years of research and prototyping to fill the need for technology in areas where water and electricity access is limited. The toilet is portable (with the option to mount it to the floor), waterless, and chemical-free.
The toilet is equipped with a flush button and includes a rechargeable battery pack that requires 12 V DC, but an optional AC adapter can be purchased.
The toilet uses a patented waste bagging system to prevent odors and seal waste safely. It is designed to accommodate 17 uses before requiring a refill cartridge. The toilet is capable of holding up to 550 lbs of waste.
The structure is made of high-density polyethylene and is considered lightweight (27 lbs). The product dimensions are 16 × 21 × 23 in.
Additional details can be found in the User’s Manual.
The manufacturer provides technical support for the first year for the toilet, and six months for components.
Replacement components (cartridges of bags, batteries) are available from the manufacturer.
Designer specified performance targets include the system being chemical-free, water-less, easy to clean, and overall better for the environment than traditional portable toilets.
No certifications listed
The toilets were tested by the manufacturer.
Through sealing the waste into bags after each flush, the Laveo toilet ensures that users do not have contact with the unhygienic waste either during use or during waste disposal.
The system runs on electricity, either powered by a battery or using an AC adapter. In addition the bags are continually replaced in cartridges.
Manufacturer cites portability, visual inspection, ease of set-up, and effectiveness of waste disposal as evaluation criteria.
The manufacturer shows how to replace dry-flush cartridges in this video.
